Student teachers share their ideas of cancer education at primary level

4th April 2015

Trainee teachers at Winchester University

We were excited to return to Winchester University to hear from the trainee teachers who had agreed to share their approaches of cancer education at primary level with the #RETHINKCANCER team.

We were overwhelmed by their efforts and the lengths they had gone to considering the best approach to teaching cancer awareness. It was promising to see that many groups had decided it was more beneficial to start the conversations in the classroom, as young as Year 2. They agreed that healthy habits and perceptions are starting to form at such an early age, therefore it is essential to start shaping behaviours as soon as they are developing.

We are very excited to work further with the talented bunch of trainee teachers in the future! We well and truly take our hats off to them for their passion and hard-work!
